American Bitcoin Mines Up to 13 BTC Daily as Cost Dispute Lingers

American Bitcoin, the crypto mining venture tied to the Trump family, is now producing between 11 and 13 Bitcoin per day while running close to 90,000 mining machines, according to co-founder Eric Trump. The figures, disclosed during an appearance on the Wolf Financial podcast, arrive months after a public dispute over how much it actually costs the company to mine a single coin.

The operation, which was founded in 2025 by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., merged with Gryphon Digital Mining and began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker ABTC in September of that year. Hut 8 Corp, an early backer of the venture, remains its largest shareholder.

Speaking on the podcast, Eric Trump framed the production numbers as evidence that American Bitcoin ranks among the most efficient miners in the sector. Gross margins in the second quarter came in around 49%, a figure that aligns with the company's own quarterly filings. The firm mined a record 932 BTC during that period, its highest output to date.

The company's treasury has expanded to roughly 8,300 BTC as of late August, up from about 5,401 BTC at the close of 2025. That accumulation strategy, which involves holding mined Bitcoin rather than selling it, has drawn comparisons to Strategy, the software firm formerly known as MicroStrategy that has built a massive Bitcoin reserve. With Bitcoin trading near $77,696 at the time of reporting, the reserve carries a paper value exceeding $600 million.
