Bitcoin could be heading for a price move of around 30% or more over the next two months after volatility in the world's largest cryptocurrency dropped to historically low levels, according to Fundstrat.

Bitcoin's price movements over the past 30 days have been among the smallest on record, creating an unusually quiet period for an asset known for sharp swings.

Previous periods of similarly low volatility have frequently been followed by much larger moves, although the historical data does not indicate whether Bitcoin is more likely to rise or fall.

CNBC reported Tuesday that Fundstrat identified eight previous periods when Bitcoin volatility fell to comparable levels. The median absolute price move over the following 60 days was 30.2%.

Four of those periods ended with Bitcoin higher and four ended with it lower.

"The typical magnitude of historical moves is notable," Sean Farrell, Fundstrat's head of digital asset strategy, said in a note cited by CNBC.

The findings come after Bitcoin rose more than 2% Monday following several sessions in which it trailed gains in other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin has still lost nearly 27% since the beginning of 2026.

Fundstrat said part of Monday's increase appeared to come from traders closing bearish positions rather than a broad change in market direction.
