Bitcoin Is Only 0.2% of Global Assets. What Would 1% Look Like? At roughly $1.6T, Bitcoin represents only about 0.2% of the asset pools shown in this comparison. For perspective: • Property: $393T • Bonds: $161T • Stocks: $157T • Gold: $28T • Bitcoin: $1.6T If Bitcoin eventually reached a 1% share, the implied price would be around $368K per BTC. At gold’s current size, the math points to roughly $1.38M. Those aren’t price targets. They show how sensitive Bitcoin’s valuation could be to relatively small changes in global portfolio allocation. Bitcoin doesn’t need investors to abandon stocks, bonds or property. Even gold doesn’t need to be “replaced.” The long-term question is whether BTC can earn a larger permanent allocation alongside them. That matters because Bitcoin’s supply cannot expand in response to higher demand. If pensions, asset managers, corporations and sovereign capital gradually increase their allocations, they are competing for essentially the same finite asset. But the chart also needs context. Most global wealth isn’t liquid or immediately available to rotate into Bitcoin, and larger institutional allocations still depend on regulation, volatility, custody and risk limits. So $368K isn’t inevitable because Bitcoin is “only 0.2%.” The more useful question is whether Bitcoin can move from a small alternative allocation into a standard component of global portfolios. If that happens, even a small percentage shift becomes meaningful at this scale.
