Bitcoin Price Holds Near $84K After Dipping to Weekly Low

By 12:02 p.m., bitcoin traded above $83,360, having recovered from another dip below $83,000. At that price threshold, bitcoin was down 1.5% for the day and down 3% from seven days prior, leaving its market capitalization well below the $1.7 trillion mark. With just over two days before September ends, bitcoin’s price was recently more than 7% higher than at the beginning of the month.

As of this publication, Bitcoin has just ticked back to the $84,000 level as the leading cryptocurrency looks to claw back the rest of the gains it shed over the last day.

On the derivatives front, bitcoin’s price action in the past 24 hours vaporized nearly $92 million in long bets on the cryptocurrency versus $33.5 million in short bets. Overall, the crypto economy saw $398 million in long leveraged positions wiped out in the same period, compared with $132 million in short positions.

As reported by Bitcoin.com News, spot bitcoin ETFs pulled in $2.39 billion in the past week, which helped push 2026 year-to-date flows back into positive territory. Many experts see the continued flow of funds into ETFs as an indication that bitcoin will continue to rally into the fourth quarter.

However, according to Bitfinex analysts, the answer will depend on whether the buyers who drove the rally continue to buy above their own cost, a behavior that has been common historically for ETF buyers and corporate treasury accumulators such as Strategy.
