What happens when AI starts finding the Bitcoin bugs that human developers missed? A recent AI-assisted security audit uncovered a staggering 4,962 findings across 390 Bitcoin-related projects in just over 24 hours, including 85 critical vulnerabilities and 635 high-severity issues. The development has put Bitcoin infrastructure under a new kind of scrutiny, while BTC remains the market’s dominant cryptocurrency and Avalanche (AVAX) adds another established name to the conversation around the next big crypto.

Strategy Skipped Bitcoin, and BTC Is Feeling the Plot Twist

Bitcoin is trading at $78,478.41, down 0.89% over 24 hours, with a market cap of $1.57 trillion, down 0.82%. Daily volume has jumped to $33.89 billion, up a notable 44.69%, pushing the volume-to-market-cap ratio to 2.15%. The latest corporate Bitcoin story adds an unusual twist: Strategy spent $176.3 million repurchasing 1,810,885 STRC shares during the week ended September 7 instead of adding more BTC, marking a sharp change from its $369.7 million Bitcoin purchase the previous week.

The move gives Bitcoin an interesting backdrop as trading activity accelerates while one of its biggest corporate buyers pauses accumulation. Strategy now holds 845,050 BTC, but the latest filing shows no Bitcoin purchases or sales for the week, while the company also doubled its digital credit securities repurchase program to $2 billion. That does not change Bitcoin’s broader story, but it does create a notable market signal: even with BTC near $78,500 and volume climbing sharply, Strategy’s latest $176 million allocation went into its preferred stock rather than another Bitcoin stack addition.
