Ryan Kirkley of Global Settlement Network says rising capital costs and ETF outflows put the focus on liquidity, collateral and settlement rather than token prices.

Investorideas.com (www.investorideas.com newswire) a trusted go-to platform for big investing ideas, including crypto and defense stocks issues market commentary from Ryan Kirkley, CEO, Global Settlement Network.

Bitcoin's Recovery Has Raised Some Questions About Its Relationship With Equities

Bitcoin has recovered above $83,000 despite weakness in South Korean equities and Nasdaq futures, which I find particularly notable given how closely crypto has traded alongside traditional risk assets when investors have grown nervous about the broader economic outlook.

I wouldn't go so far as to suggest Bitcoin has suddenly decoupled from equities, because we've seen these divergences before and they don't always last, but I do think the recovery says something about how investors are approaching crypto exposure. Demand is clearly still there at these levels, even as other parts of the market have struggled, and the question now is whether that demand can hold up if broader financial conditions get tougher.

What concerns me more than the direction of Bitcoin on any particular day is how much liquidity actually sits behind these moves, because institutions managing substantial positions need to know they can access capital, adjust collateral and settle transactions without creating additional pressure on the market. We've spent years discussing institutional adoption in terms of investment flows, but the operational demands that come with that participation deserve just as much attention.
