Soluna and Bitdeer Enter 28 MW Agreement at Project Kati 1

Key Terms

hash rate technical

Hash rate is the measure of how quickly a computer system can process complex calculations needed to verify transactions and add new blocks to a blockchain. It can be thought of as the speed at which a miner's equipment works, similar to how a car's horsepower indicates its power. Higher hash rates generally mean more mining power and greater chances of earning rewards, making it an important indicator of the network's security and competitiveness.

exahashes per second technical

A measurement of computational speed equal to one quintillion (10^18) cryptographic hash calculations per second, commonly used to describe the processing power of cryptocurrency mining networks or mining fleets. It matters to investors because higher exahashes-per-second indicate greater mining capacity and network security, and they help gauge potential mining revenue, competitive scale, and capital intensity — like comparing how many workers a factory can run per shift.

Deployment adds approximately 1.93 EH/s at Soluna's largest operating site

ALBANY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Soluna Holdings, Inc. ("Soluna" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: SLNH), a developer of green data centers for intensive computing applications, including AI and Bitcoin mining, today announced that one of its subsidiaries has entered into an agreement with Dory Creek, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bitdeer Technologies Group ("Bitdeer") (NASDAQ: BTDR), a world-leading technology company for AI and Bitcoin mining infrastructure. Under the agreement, Bitdeer will deploy approximately 28 MW of Bitcoin mining equipment, representing approximately 1.93 EH/s of hash rate, at Soluna's Project Kati 1 in South Texas. Hash rate is measured in exahashes per second (EH/s) and reflects the computing power dedicated to Bitcoin mining. The agreement provides for deployment beginning in September 2026, ramping in batches.
