Bybit has launched Perp Options, a new derivatives product the crypto exchange describes as the industry’s first options contract built on top of equity perpetuals, with SpaceX and Nvidia serving as the opening underlyings, according to a company announcement published on August 28. The first two markets, SPCX (SpaceX) and NVDA (Nvidia), are scheduled to begin live trading on September 17, 2026 at 20:00 UTC, with the instruments available to trade around the clock.

How the New Contracts Work

The options settle in USDT and carry a contract multiplier of 1, matching the mechanics Bybit already applies to its equity perpetual contracts. Bybit said the instruments will integrate with its Unified Trading Account and Portfolio Margin systems, so users can cross-hedge spot, perpetual, and options positions from a single margin account. The exchange lists spreads, straddles, and covered calls among the strategies the product is designed to support, positioning it as a way to apply familiar options techniques to equity exposure settled in stablecoins.

First Markets and the Roadmap

Beyond the opening SpaceX and Nvidia contracts, Bybit said it plans to add TSLA, QQQ, SOXL, and MU at a later stage, together with additional expiry dates. The company did not specify a timeline for those additions, and the September 17 launch date with its 20:00 UTC start remains the only concrete scheduling detail disclosed so far. The choice of SpaceX, a privately held company, is notable because it gives traders indirect exposure to a business whose shares are not listed on a public exchange. The announcement did not indicate initial listing fees or leverage limits for the new contracts.
