Assets in the Canary XRP ETF declined even as trading in its shares reached about $82 million, according to a report originally published by Crypto News. The contrast highlights that heavy share activity does not necessarily coincide with an increase in assets held by a fund.
Exchange-traded funds are investment products whose shares can change hands throughout the trading day. Trading volume reflects transactions in those shares, while changes in fund assets can also depend on market moves in the underlying exposure and on whether new shares are created or existing shares are redeemed.
XRP is a digital asset associated with the XRP Ledger ecosystem. Interest in XRP-linked investment products has grown alongside broader efforts to give investors regulated, exchange-traded ways to gain crypto exposure, but activity in an ETF’s shares should not be treated as a direct measure of demand for the underlying asset.
