U.S. and Iranian officials held approximately three hours of talks in New York on Tuesday during the UN General Assembly. U.S. President Trump subsequently described the talks as “very good” and “very productive,” and said the two sides planned to meet again in the near term. Expectations of easing U.S.-Iran tensions and a potential resumption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz increased, sending crude oil prices higher intraday before retreating. Gold posted a V-shaped move, falling more than 1% at one point before rebounding. U.S. equities were mixed, with the Nasdaq extending its record highs, the Dow Jones declining, and the S&P 500 remaining broadly flat. The chip sector remained strong, with the semiconductor index rising more than 2% for a sixth consecutive gain; Sandisk rose nearly 7% and Micron gained 5%. In crypto markets, BTC is currently consolidating around $86,200. Compared with the previous breakout phase, trading volume has contracted significantly, suggesting that short-term capital has entered a phase of two-way positioning and high-level turnover. $85,800–86,000 remains the near-term support zone, with the overall structure still showing relatively strong consolidation. $86,600–87,000 represents the previous-high resistance zone; a volume-backed breakout and sustained move above this area could open up further upside.
