Bitcoin Core Version 32.0 Enters Final Testing Phase on September 14, Official Release Scheduled for October 10
According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin Core Version 32.0 entered its final testing phase on September 14, with an official release date set for October 10. This update introduces a transaction fee estimator based on real-time mempool status, enabling faster downward adjustments of fee recommendations once network congestion eases. It also supports multi-threaded parallel reading of transaction data to accelerate node blockchain synchronization, utilizing 8 threads by default. Regarding security, it patches a wallet naming vulnerability present in non-Windows systems since version 24.0, which allowed attackers to execute arbitrary commands on the node host using custom wallet names. Additionally, it fixes an out-of-memory vulnerability in the newly built-in web server; tests show that 16 unauthenticated connections can drive node memory usage from 46MB to approximately 3GB within about one minute. This update does not involve any changes to Bitcoin's consensus rules.
