Why Metaplanet Made Trades With a Price Difference
The company explained that the transactions were not aimed at short-term profit, but rather at testing the liquidity of its large bitcoin reserve. Metaplanet wanted to assess how quickly a significant amount of BTC could be converted into cash.
Company representatives also noted that the proceeds from selling 10,000 BTC exceeded the total amount of debt and interest obligations.

Bitcoin moved from $79,090.3 to $85,531.2 over the last 30-day period, a gain of 8.1 percent.

In its quarterly report, Metaplanet outlined an updated approach to its asset structure. The company plans to hold about 85–90% of its capital in bitcoin, and to raise financing through issuing shares and other instruments without a fixed maturity date.
