A OpenAI começará a exibir anúncios para pessoas que usam o ChatGPT em 31 mercados europeus na segunda-feira (24 de agosto), incluindo Alemanha, França, Espanha, Itália, Polônia, Suécia, Noruega, Dinamarca, Irlanda e Países Baixos.

O momento coincide com a marca de seis meses dos negócios de anúncios da OpenAI. O que começou como um piloto nos EUA em fevereiro já passou por Canadá, Austrália, Nova Zelândia, Reino Unido, México, Brasil, Japão e Coreia do Sul. A Europa sempre seria mais lenta. A regulamentação local (especificamente o Regulamento Geral sobre a Proteção de Dados, ou GDPR) exige consentimento explícito para segmentação personalizada, a menos que uma empresa possa provar um interesse legítimo em fazer o contrário, o que é um argumento difícil de sustentar.
