El presidente de OpenAI, Greg Brockman, realmente no quería que el candidato al Congreso por Nueva York, Alex Bores, quien apoyaba el derecho de los estados a promulgar regulaciones de seguridad para la IA, ganara su carrera de primarias de junio. Pero sus empleados con mayores donaciones pensaron de manera diferente — y entregaron cientos de miles de dólares a Bores y a los grupos que lo respaldan.

Los trabajadores de OpenAI no solo revelaron un cisma dentro de uno de los laboratorios de IA de frontera de San Francisco, como se previamente reportado, sino que también se alinearon con la política de su competidor directo Anthropic, donde los trabajadores y ejecutivos caminan al unísono.
