핵심 요약

  • Phemex is promoting a card for everyday spending.
  • The card is positioned as a bridge between crypto and traditional payment use cases.
  • The excerpt does not provide details on availability, supported assets, fees, or card mechanics.

"Utility" has almost become a cliché in crypto, especially when it comes to payment cards. Phemex is one of the many exchanges launching a Mastercard, but it's trying to address a real-world usage problem instead of just promising Cashback tiers and airport lounge perks like most products.

With most prepaid crypto cards, you still need to move funds into a separate card balance before heading out. Having money on an exchange does not necessarily mean your card has enough to cover the bill.

Phemex card removes that inconvenience. It draws directly from available USDT or USDC in your spot account, converting the amount needed when you pay. You still need enough stablecoins to cover the purchase, but you have one less balance to manage.

For someone already keeping funds on Phemex exchange, that could make everyday spending easier. Whether it makes another card worth having takes a closer look at the costs.

One Less Balance to Manage

Consider someone who has sold some crypto and left the proceeds in stablecoins on Phemex. They want to use a portion for everyday expenses while keeping the rest available for future purchases.

With the card, they can spend from that available balance without first withdrawing it to a bank. Phemex says the card supports Apple Pay and Google Pay and is currently available to eligible residents of the European Economic Area.
