Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has asked the Speaker of the Sejm to schedule another vote on President Karol Nawrocki’s veto of the crypto-assets market law, arguing that the Zondacrypto affair has made further delay politically and practically indefensible.

Tusk made the request on Friday as ministers prepared the 2027 budget.

He said the exchange’s collapse no longer looks like a one-off payoff to a single politician.

In his account, it resembles an organized system in which familiar names from other controversies keep surfacing. Investigators estimate customer losses at about 350 million zloty, or roughly $94 million.

Thousands of users have been unable to withdraw funds since the platform seized up earlier this year.

The bill would bring Poland into line with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework.

Nawrocki has rejected successive drafts three times, in December 2025 and then in February and June 2026.

Parliament failed twice to gather the three-fifths majority needed to override those vetoes.

Without the law, domestic platforms have remained outside the EU licensing system, leaving supervisors with fewer tools as the Zondacrypto inquiry widened.

Tusk said he would ask Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty to put the veto back before deputies.
