Agencies will have access to new artificial intelligence tools that can help implement government policies, digitize manual processes and automate work orders through a Missionforce expansion announced in a Wednesday blog post

Salesforce’s post also announced a partnership with OpenAI, which will allow government and national security officials to access Missionforce applications and workflows directly through ChatGPT. That integration is notable as federal agencies will have usage-based discounted access to ChatGPT on Oct. 1 under a new OneGov partnership

The collaboration also integrates OpenAI frontier models into Public Sector Solutions, a cloud-based Salesforce platform agencies can use to deploy AI agents and apps.

“Government agencies want tailored AI that runs everywhere they operate while staying within the secure environments their missions demand. Missionforce enables this at scale, with purpose-built AI that executes the mission and enables agencies to solve their hardest problems while maintaining operational control,” said Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce and Government Cloud, in the post.

The expansion comes a year after Salesforce launched Missionforce, a business unit particularly focused on meeting the needs of defense, intelligence and aerospace agencies. Army, Air Force and Transportation Department units have opted to use Missionforce technology for various functionalities, according to Salesforce.
