Good morning, moomoo users! Here's an overview of this morning's market open. Thank you in advance for your attention.

Market Overview

The Tokyo stock market on the 20th opened with buying momentum. The Nikkei Stock Average started higher, rebounding by 406 yen from the previous business day to 65,732 yen.

In the US stock market on the 19th, $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ the three major indices all rose. The announcement by the US Treasury on the same day to increase its bond-buying operations was well-received, as it led to a decline in US long-term interest rates. Global interest rate hikes had been accelerating due to rising oil prices and concerns over fiscal expansion, creating headwinds for stock markets worldwide, but this trend appears to have been temporarily halted. In response, buying back is expected to dominate the Tokyo market today. $Nikkei 225 (.N225.JP)$ Given the sharp consecutive declines through the previous day, buying on dips is likely to gain momentum. On the other hand, US semiconductor stocks fell in the previous session, which could act as a negative factor.

For SMBC Nikko's forecast for fiscal year ending March 2028, which serves as the basis for the target price calculation, an EV/EBITDA multiple derived via SOTP was applied at 14.5x (down from 15.0x) in light of current market conditions (the discount rate remains unchanged at 10%). In the short term, the firm believes that cyclical areas such as Factory Automation (FA) and air conditioning will support overall corporate performance. In the medium to long term, it continues to focus on the acceleration of growth in data center (DC)-related businesses, the expansion of Japan's defense budget, earnings contributions from growth in defense and space systems businesses through overseas acquisitions, and the potential for multiple expansion.
