[WASHINGTON] O presidente dos EUA, Donald Trump, pressionou o Congresso a aprovar a legislação de estrutura do mercado de ativos digitais que é uma prioridade máxima para o setor, ao receber executivos de criptomoedas na Casa Branca na quarta-feira (19 de ago).

Trump classificou a chamada Clarity Act como fundamental para manter a vantagem dos EUA em tecnologias emergentes e contou com a presença de executivos no evento, incluindo o CEO da Coinbase, Brian Armstrong.

Outros executivos presentes incluíram Tyler e Cameron Winklevoss da Gemini Space Station, Arjun Sethi, o co-CEO da Payward, que opera a exchange Kraken, e o CEO da Robinhood Markets, Vlad Tenev. 

“Precisamos que o Congresso dê o próximo passo aprovando a Clarity Act, uma versão justa da Clarity Act”, disse Trump. “É uma legislação estruturada muito, muito poderosa que nos manterá à frente da China, nos manterá à frente de todos os outros.”

Trump disse que os EUA estavam no “início de uma revolução” nas finanças, com o “potencial de criar mais empregos, oportunidades e riqueza para todos os americanos”.
