Trump crypto venture gets OCC nod

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has granted a crypto venture linked to President Donald Trump’s family conditional approval to establish a national trust bank despite commentators’ concerns. 

On August 14, the OCC wrote to World Liberty Financial saying that the company’s charter application has been granted conditional approval, but added that the venture will not receive final approval until all pre-opening requirements are met.
