WASHINGTON — Präsident Donald Trump forderte den Kongress am Mittwoch während eines Treffens im Weißen Haus mit Führungskräften der Kryptowährungs- und Finanzbranche auf, den CLARITY Act zu verabschieden.

Der Gesetzentwurf würde Regulierung und Sicherheit in eine Branche bringen, die für ihre Volatilität und Unsicherheiten bekannt ist.

Finanzanalysten sagen, dass die Zustimmung des Kongresses den Wert einiger Kryptowährungen innerhalb eines Jahres um 50% erhöhen könnte.

Es würde auch das persönliche Vermögen von Trump vergrößern, dessen Familie stark in Kryptowährungen investiert hat.

Das Treffen im Weißen Haus brachte Führungskräfte der Kryptowährungsbranche wie Coinbase-Chef Brian Armstrong und Robinhood-Chef Vlad Tenev mit Vertretern staatlicher Wirtschaftsbehörden zusammen.

„Wir stellen sicher, dass Amerika der unangefochtene Marktführer bleibt, nicht nur bei Bitcoin und Krypto, sondern auch bei Technologien wie Prognosemärkten, künstlicher Intelligenz und vielem mehr“, sagte Trump.

Es wird erwartet, dass der Kongress kurz nach der Rückkehr der Abgeordneten im September über den CLARITY Act abstimmen wird.

Trump sagte, der Kongress solle den „nächsten Schritt“ machen und den Gesetzentwurf verabschieden.
