Despite the U.S. Treasury's bond buybacks, confidence in the dollar and U.S. Treasuries has been shaken, leading to a fundamental inflection point in global capital flows. The so-called 'Debasement Trade' is taking hold in earnest, with large amounts of capital flowing into physical and alternative assets as a hedge against declining currency value and repeated fiscal deficits. This is evidenced by simultaneous rallies in gold, silver, copper, and Bitcoin.

Gold Prices Jump 16% This Month... All Four Major Alternative Assets Surge

On the 25th (local time), gold futures for December delivery closed at $4,694.50 per ounce on the New York Commodity Exchange (COMEX). Prices have risen 15.94% so far this month.

Silver is also on a strong run. The relative undervaluation appeal compared to gold and additional demand from industrial sectors have boosted momentum, pushing silver prices above gold's rate of increase. COMEX silver futures climbed to around $68 per ounce, up over 18% this month alone.

Copper crossed the $14,000 mark this month. On August 17, the London Metal Exchange (LME) spot price for copper reached a record high at $14,850 per metric ton, maintaining the $14,000 level due to persistent supply difficulties at mines and strong demand from artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and power infrastructure.
