Bitcoin sits at a crossroads, and traders on a regulated prediction market are putting real money behind a striking verdict about which price level it reaches next. The answer may surprise anyone still bracing for a crash.

Kalshi’s Bitcoin market, which pays if BTC touches $50,000 before $100,000, puts the odds at 17% for the crash and 83% for the recovery. Because traders are risking money on those outcomes, the market offers a more direct read of sentiment than a single analyst target.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) trades near $75,600, down about 35% over the past year and 13.5% year to date, but up 20% over the past month. Bitcoin is also down 4% over the past week, with the recovery stalling below $80,000. So which level comes first, $50,000 or $100,000?

Kalshi’s Bitcoin Market Has Flipped From Crash to Recovery

Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated prediction market where traders buy contracts tied to real-world outcomes, making each price an implied probability. The Bitcoin contract pays if BTC touches $50,000 before $100,000, while the $100,000 outcome wins if it comes first. If neither level is touched by December 31, 2026, the contract loses.
