[DigitalToday-Reporter Yoonseo Lee (이윤서)] Die Kryptowährungsbranche forderte Unternehmen im Bereich der künstlichen Intelligenz (KI) auf, den frühen Zugang zu modernsten KI-Modellen für Bitcoin-Entwickler und Sicherheitspersonal auszuweiten, das für Open-Source-Finanzinfrastrukturen verantwortlich ist.

Cointelegraph, ein Blockchain-Medium, berichtete am 12. Aug., dass das Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) einen offenen Brief veröffentlicht hat, in dem solche Schritte gefordert werden.

In dem Brief hieß es, dass Verteidiger digitaler Vermögenswerte, einschließlich der Bitcoin Core-Entwickler, oft keinen Zugang zu den Cybersicherheitsprogrammen der KI-Labore haben. Die Nutzung sei zudem durch Sicherheitsvorkehrungen (Guardrails) bei öffentlich zugänglichen Spitzenmodellen eingeschränkt. Infolgedessen hätten sie keine andere Wahl, als sich auf leistungsschwächere Open-Weight-Modelle zu verlassen.

Unternehmen und Gruppen, die den Brief unterzeichneten, forderten führende KI-Labore auf, ein ständiges Zugangsprogramm für diejenigen zu schaffen oder zu erweitern, die für die Verteidigung von Open-Source-Finanzinfrastrukturen verantwortlich sind. Zu den Unterzeichnern gehörten Africa Bitcoin Institute, Anchorage Digital, BitGo, Bitwise, Blockstream, Bull Bitcoin, Mara, Kraken, Ledger und Trezor.

Sie sagten, das Kernproblem bestehe darin, dass KI die Kostenstruktur der Sicherheitsforschung und von Cyber-Operationen verändere. Fortgeschrittene KI-Modelle können große Code-Repositorys durchsuchen, um potenzielle Schwachstellen zu finden und komplexe technische Aufgaben schnell auszuführen. Diese Fähigkeiten können zur Stärkung der Verteidigung genutzt werden, bieten aber Angreifern dieselben Vorteile.

Auch die hackingbedingten Verluste in der Branche nehmen zu. Daten von DefiLlama zeigten, dass die Hacking-Verluste auf Kryptowährungsplattformen im April 2026 über 634 Millionen $ lagen, die höchste monatliche Summe seit dem Bybit-Hack. Im Februar 2025 erreichten die Gesamtverluste aufgrund der Auswirkungen des Bybit-Hacks etwa 1,4 Milliarden $.

Die Besorgnis in der Sicherheitsbranche wächst ebenfalls, da die KI-gesteuerte Entdeckung von Schwachstellen immer fortschrittlicher wird. Mitchell Amador (미첼 아마도르), Geschäftsführer der Bug-Bounty-Plattform Immunefi, sagte, neue Modelle wie Claude Opus 4.8 und GPT-5.5 hätten eine Katastrophe für die Kryptowährungsbranche geschürt.

Die Branche sieht die Forderung nicht als einfaches Zugangsproblem, sondern als eine Frage der Verteidigungskapazität für Infrastrukturen. Der Brief betonte, dass Open-Source-Software die Grundlage wichtiger digitaler und finanzieller Infrastrukturen bildet und dass Bitcoin allein Werte von über 1 Billion $ schützt. Er warnte auch davor, dass Schwachstellen in Open-Source-Infrastrukturen die lebenslangen Ersparnisse von Einzelpersonen gefährden könnten.

Der Fokus liegt nun darauf, ob KI-Unternehmen begrenzte Frühzugangssysteme für Sicherheitszwecke tatsächlich ausweiten werden. Da Sicherheitsvorkehrungen für öffentliche Modelle und Zugangskontrollen für Hochleistungsmodelle bestehen bleiben, stellt sich als nächstes Problem für die Branche die Frage, wie viel Verteidigungskapazität sich Bitcoin- und Open-Source-Entwickler sichern können.
