Die Auswirkungen sind gewaltig. Diese Entwicklung könnte neue Dimensionen der Funktionalität und Skalierbarkeit für Bitcoin erschließen. Und das Beste daran: Es sind nicht einmal Änderungen an der Basisschicht der Blockchain erforderlich.

Edan Yago, Mitbegründer von BOS, nahm kein Blatt vor den Mund. „Dies stellt eine Ära dar, in der Bitcoin nicht mehr nur digitales Gold ist“, sagte er uns. „Es ist auch ein Betriebssystem und eine Plattform für dezentrale Anwendungen.“

Yago beließ es nicht dabei. Er forderte andere Kryptowährungen heraus. „Dies markiert ein Kapitel, in dem Ethereum, Solana und alle anderen Layer-1-Projekte nicht mehr vor der Konkurrenz durch Bitcoin sicher sind“, erklärte er.

Was also ist die Technik hinter diesem Game-Changer? Sie heißt BitSNARK. Es handelt sich um eine ZK Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge Verifizierungs-Softwarebibliothek. Vereinfacht ausgedrückt ermöglicht sie es Entwicklern, „nahezu vertrauenslose Brücken“ zu schlagen, um Bitcoin zwischen dem Mainnet und Layer-2-Rollups zu bewegen.
