Bitcoin is knocking on the door of its next major resistance wall right as the world's most-watched central banking conference gets underway with an agenda that, for once, is actually about crypto's own back yard.

BTC is changing hands at $80,526, up 1.9% today after opening at $79,023 and tagging an intraday high of $80,808. That puts the cryptocurrency roughly 2.5% below the $82,538 level that capped a previous breakout attempt, and it comes two days after Bitcoin was rejected near $81,000 as its 50-week moving average, sitting around $81,085, capped the rally.
