Bitcoin’s march toward the historic $80,000 milestone hit a brick wall today: immense sell pressure triggered a sharp intraday pullback.

However, despite the steep drop, market metrics and aggressive dip-buying indicate that bullish sentiment remains largely unshaken.

The $80,000 psychological barrier

Bitcoin bulls made two distinct attempts to breach the $80,000 level earlier today. The price action spiked toward the major resistance line just before 11:30 and again shortly after 12:15, only to be met with aggressive selling right below the threshold.

wicked right underneath the level and then snap back

I know a lot of people esp non technicians abhor psych levels but esp in a market like $BTCUSD the 'what' is far more important than the 'why' https://t.co/gjvxMQlRdZ pic.twitter.com/bpNlYxGfq0
