Bitcoin price is consolidating after its latest breakout, but the underlying market structure is showing a more important signal: larger holders are accumulating while smaller wallets are distributing into strength. BTC recently climbed from $62,229 on August 1 to $81,500, before retreating toward $77,570. Now, the $73,880 MVRV pricing band has emerged as the key level for bulls. If Bitcoin holds this support and reclaims the $81,000–$84,000 resistance zone, the next major upside target could be $100,000.

Bitcoin’s Retail-Whale Divergence Takes Center Stage

The latest accumulation data reveals a sharp split in Bitcoin holder behavior. BTC has gained roughly 31%, rising from $62,229 on August 1 to $81,500. Yet the rally has coincided with persistent selling from smaller holders. Wallets holding between 0.1 and 1 BTC posted an Accumulation Trend Score of -0.982, indicating aggressive distribution from this cohort.

The broader accumulation heatmap, however, paints a different picture. Larger wallet groups have shown comparatively stronger accumulation during the advance. Retail distribution during a price rally does not necessarily signal weakness when larger holders are absorbing the available supply. Instead, it can indicate that coins are gradually moving from weaker or shorter-term holders toward investors with a longer-term positioning horizon. That makes the current correction more important to watch through the lens of holder behavior rather than price alone.
