Bitwise expands regulated XRP access
The Bitwise XRP ETF, launched on the New York Stock Exchange in November 2025, provides brokerage-based investors a way to gain exposure to XRP prices without handling private keys or managing crypto exchange accounts. Bitwise directly holds spot XRP underlying the ETF and charges a management fee for fund administration and custody.
Authorized market participants can create additional ETF shares when new funds enter, prompting the ETF to acquire and hold more XRP. Rather than representing a corporate purchase by Bitwise, these inflows reflect client-driven demand through ETF subscriptions. As a result, the fund’s XRP holdings increase in proportion to investor activity, but Bitwise does not allocate its own corporate capital.
Placing tokens in fund custody can affect the circulating supply available for trading, but does not permanently reduce the total XRP supply. Unlike a token burn, these actions simply shift tokens into ETF custody and can limit the instantly tradable inventory.
