Brazilian Bitcoin treasury company OranjeBTC has launched the DIGY11 Digital Yield ETF, offering local investors access to preferred securities from Bitcoin treasury companies through a Brazilian real-denominated investment product.

OranjeBTC Plans DIGY11 Listing on B3 in September

OranjeBTC said DIGY11 is expected to begin trading on Brazil’s B3 stock exchange in early September. 3R Investimentos manages the exchange-traded fund, MarketVector provides its underlying index, while Banco Daycoval serves as trustee for the product.

DIGY11 will trade in Brazilian reais and provide daily liquidity alongside currency hedging. Income received from overseas securities held by the fund will be converted into reais before being distributed to ETF holders each month.

The initial portfolio includes STRC preferred security issued by Strategy and SATA issued by Strive. STRC will account for the largest portion of the portfolio. DIGY11 does not invest directly in Bitcoin despite its exposure to securities issued by companies associated with Bitcoin treasury strategies.

DIGY11 Targets CDI Plus 3% to 5% Annual Distributions

Under current market conditions, OranjeBTC expects DIGY11 to provide annual distributions equivalent to Brazil’s CDI benchmark rate plus about 3% to 5%. The estimate excludes any changes in the value of DIGY11 shares and does not guarantee future returns.

The ETF tracks the MarketVector Bitcoin Treasury Preferred Equity BRL Hedged Index, which OranjeBTC and MarketVector developed together. The index focuses on preferred securities issued by companies operating Bitcoin treasury strategies while providing currency protection for Brazilian investors.

The structure brings products commonly described as digital credit into Brazil through a locally listed ETF. These instruments use preferred securities from Bitcoin treasury companies to provide income, rather than giving investors direct ownership of Bitcoin.

Strategy has continued developing STRC as part of its capital structure. Michael Saylor said in April that shareholders were voting on a proposed amendment that would change STRC dividend payments from monthly to semi-monthly.

Brazil Expands Access to Crypto-Linked Investment Products

The planned DIGY11 listing adds another crypto-linked investment product to Brazil’s regulated financial market. Brazilian authorities have previously allowed several cryptocurrency related investment products to trade locally, including exchange-traded funds providing exposure to digital assets.

Brazilian lawmakers are also considering legislation that would establish a national Bitcoin reserve. The proposal seeks to build a reserve of up to 1 million Bitcoin over five years through gradual purchases if approved.

DIGY11 follows a different model because the fund will not purchase Bitcoin directly. Investors instead gain exposure to income producing preferred securities from Bitcoin treasury companies while receiving distributions in Brazilian reais.

For investors exploring digital assets, learning how to buy tokenized ETFs on exchange platforms can provide access to fractionalized equities globally.
