French Quantum Computing Firm Quandela Explores Quantum Chip Manufacturing Tie-Up with Samsung, SK

French quantum computing company Quandela is pushing forward with quantum chip manufacturing that leverages South Korea's semiconductor ecosystem. The company is now formally exploring potential collaboration with South Korean semiconductor firms including Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) and SK Hynix (000660.KS).

Quandela founder and CEO Niccolo Somaschi said in a recent announcement, "We see Korea not as a one-time customer but as a long-term partner," adding, "We want to combine Korea's manufacturing and systems integration capabilities with Quandela's quantum technology to drive the industrialization of quantum computing."

He directly referenced the possibility of working with South Korean chipmakers, saying, "I believe we can collaborate with semiconductor companies like Samsung and SK in Korea." The vision is to leverage South Korea's semiconductor process and packaging capabilities in the quantum chip manufacturing process. However, no concrete collaboration agreements have been signed with Samsung Electronics or SK Hynix yet; the company is still in the stage of identifying partners that could lead to actual joint development and manufacturing.
