Quantencomputing nutzt das Verhalten subatomarer Teilchen, um Probleme in der Chemie, Materialwissenschaft und Logistik zu lösen, die herkömmliche Computer nicht bewältigen können.

Die Technologie „ist aus ihrer Validierungsphase herausgewachsen und befindet sich in der beginnenden Industrialisierung“, heißt es in einem Bericht von Noah Ramos, Chef-Innovationsstratege beim in Montreal ansässigen Investment-Research-Unternehmen Alpine Macro aus diesem Monat.

Künstliche Intelligenz dominiert weiterhin die Investitionsagenda der Region, wobei die Golfstaaten Infrastrukturpläne im Wert von mehr als 300 Milliarden Dollar angekündigt haben. Quanteninvestitionen sind zwar bedeutend, aber schwer zu beziffern, da viele Großinitiativen ihre Ausgaben nicht offenlegen.

Die USA und China beschleunigen ein „souveränes Quantenrennen“, so Ramos.

Malak Trabelsi Loeb, in Dubai ansässige CEO des Quantentechnologie-Beratungsunternehmens Vernewell Group, sagte, die Region bewege sich weg von Experimenten hin zu physischer Infrastruktur und frühen Anwendungen.
