Injective co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Eric Chen said an INJ-based exchange-traded fund in the US could launch before 2027.

In a recent interview, Chen told crypto news outlet The Block that he could not give a specific timetable for an INJ ETF launch, but said 2027 was "a little too far away." He added that the process was moving much faster than he had expected.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission currently has two INJ-related ETF applications on file: the 21Shares Injective ETF and the Canary Staked INJ ETF. The two asset managers first submitted their filings last year and refiled amended S-1 registration statements in September.

Why this matters

Two SEC-filed INJ ETF applications signal that Injective is moving into the same regulated-product pipeline that has broadened institutional access to other crypto assets. Its transfer-agent registration, MiCA filing and institutional upgrade could expand its compliance and distribution infrastructure, though ETF approval and launch timing remain uncertain.

Injective is also expanding its presence in the regulated US market. Injective Institutional Services obtained SEC-registered transfer agent status in August. Chen called that registration only the beginning and said the company was also pursuing additional licenses.
