Interactive Brokers Adds Ethereum Staking for Eligible Clients

Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ: $IBKR) has launched crypto staking for eligible clients, allowing them to earn rewards on Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH) holdings through its brokerage platform.

The service is available to eligible clients of Interactive Brokers LLC through a staking dashboard in the company's Client Portal, according to a Tuesday announcement. Users can submit requests to stake or unstake their ETH and track pending transactions. Staking services are provided by crypto infrastructure firm zerohash.

When earned, rewards are credited as additional staked Ethereum, allowing holdings to compound while they remain staked, according to the company's announcement.

"Staking gives clients an opportunity to earn rewards on the cryptocurrency they own," Interactive Brokers CEO Milan Galik said, comparing the new service with the brokerage's Stock Yield Enhancement Program, which allows clients to generate additional income from eligible shares.

The launch adds another feature to Interactive Brokers' crypto offering, which lets clients trade digital assets alongside stocks, options, futures, bonds, and other financial products through a single platform.

The broker currently supports trading in 20 digital assets, including Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC), Ethereum, Solana (CRYPTO: $SOL), XRP (CRYPTO: $XRP), and Dogecoin (CRYPTO: $DOGE). It charges crypto trading commissions ranging from 0.12% to 0.18% of trade value, with a minimum fee of $1.75 per order.
