Der japanische Yen legte am Dienstag gegenüber dem US-Dollar zu, angetrieben durch wachsende Markterwartungen, dass die Bank of Japan (BoJ) die Zinsen erneut anheben wird, während der US-Dollar angesichts gemischter Wirtschaftssignale und sich verschiebender Erwartungen an die Politik der Federal Reserve verhalten blieb.

Wetten auf BoJ-Zinserhöhung treiben Yen-Nachfrage an

Anleger haben nach jüngsten Kommentaren von Zentralbankvertretern und stärker als erwartet ausgefallenen Inflationsdaten in Japan zunehmend eine weitere BoJ-Zinserhöhung in den kommenden Monaten eingepreist. In der jüngsten Handelssitzung gewann der Yen gegenüber dem Dollar an Boden, wobei USD/JPY niedriger gehandelt wurde.

Die BoJ hat die Geldpolitik nach Jahren ultra-lockerer Einstellungen schrittweise normalisiert. Marktteilnehmer sehen nun eine bedeutende Chance für eine Zinserhöhung bei der nächsten Sitzung, was die Zinsdifferenz zwischen Japan und den USA verringern und den Yen attraktiver machen würde.

US-Dollar fehlt es an Dynamik

Auf der anderen Seite tat sich der US-Dollar-Index (DXY) schwer, eine Richtung zu finden, und bewegte sich nahe der jüngsten Tiefststände. Der Greenback geriet unter Druck durch einen schwächeren US-Arbeitsmarkt und eine abkühlende Inflation, was die Erwartungen verstärkt hat, dass die Federal Reserve im Laufe dieses Jahres mit Zinssenkungen beginnen könnte.
