For instance, you can tell your Dot to keep you updated on projects you're working on, add items to your schedule, and more.
Powered by OpenAI's Astra model, the company says Dots can do things like recognize when an alert about a software bug comes in via Slack and begin digging into it. In another example, OpenAI says an early tester's Dot saw that they didn't submit an invoice for a publication. The Dot then set up the invoice and submitted it after getting the tester's approval.
You'll also be able to hand off tasks in Slack to your Dot, helping to cut down on the ever-growing number of pings and distractions you receive each day.
According to OpenAI, users will start with a single Dot, name it and customize it for themselves. The company says that in the future, it imagines users having whole teams of Dots working together for them.
Dots will roll out to Pro, Business Premium, and Enterprise users in available markets.
OpenAI's Dots comes weeks after Meta (META) debuted its popular Muse AI agent. Muse quickly shot to the top of both Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store, becoming a major win for the company, as it continues to spend billions on its AI buildout.
