Quantum-computing shares IonQ IONQ, D-Wave Quantum QBTS and Rigetti Computing (RGTI) were lower in premarket trading Friday as investors reassessed the sector following a sharp recent rebound.
The retreat comes after all three stocks posted sizable gains on Thursday. IonQ climbed 2%, D-Wave rose 3% and Rigetti added 4%, leaving room for profit-taking after several days of stronger trading.
IonQ has drawn attention from recent technology milestones, including its Superion 256 system and a new deployment agreement with Florida International University. The company said customer deliveries of the platform are planned for 2027.
Rigetti also secured a $100 million U.S. government funding agreement for quantum-computing research. D-Wave, meanwhile, reported $3.1 million of second-quarter revenue, while first-half bookings reached $35.5 million, up from $2.9 million a year earlier.
