Shares of Strive Inc. (ASST) closed in the green on Monday and surged more than 9% overnight after the company revealed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it had purchased 1,110 Bitcoin (BTC) at an average price of $73,409 per BTC, between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21.
This accounts for about $81.5 million worth of fresh purchases, bringing its total holdings to 21,356 BTC.
“One year ago, Strive held zero Bitcoin. Today, we own more than 1 out of every 1,000 Bitcoin that will ever exist. With Strive firing on all cylinders, it’ll be fun to see how big the stack is one year from now,” CEO Matt Cole said in a post on X.
Cole Says Bitcoin Bull Market Is Just Getting Started
In a separate post on X, Cole noted that Feb. 19 marked the bottom of the bear market for ASST stock, and that sentiment has since shifted dramatically.
The CEO reiterated that even when pessimism around Strive was at its peak, the team remained confident in the long-term opportunity. The company understood the Bitcoin assets it owned, the amplification strategy it had built around them, and the strength of the team it had assembled, he added.
BTC prices are now trading at around $80,318.59, recovering from lows of $56,000–$58,000 earlier this year.
