How xStocks will work with Ledger wallets
According to Payward’s Sep. 24 announcement, the companies are working to bring xStocks more deeply into Ledger Wallet so eligible customers can buy, sell, and transfer tokenized equities while holding their own keys. Payward said the planned service would cover hundreds of tokens linked to U.S. and international shares.
The companies also outlined an integration for Kraken customers who use Ledger devices. Built with Ledger’s Device Management Kit, it will let them fund and withdraw assets and sign supported transactions from their device within the Kraken experience. Ledger’s Clear Signing feature is intended to show transaction details on the device before a user approves them.
Holding a token in a hardware-secured wallet gives its owner control of the keys used to authorize a transfer. The Ledger device supplies a separate approval step when the holder decides to move the asset. Payward’s announcement describes the xStocks work across Ledger Wallet as an integration the companies are developing; it does not give a date when every planned feature will become available.
