Bitcoin (BTC-USD) opened at $76,535.95 on Friday, September 11, 2026, 2.2% lower than Thursday's opening price. As of 7:23 a.m. ET this morning, the price of bitcoin shifted to $76,758.63.

Ethereum (ETH-USD) opened at $2,437.02 on Friday, September 11, 2026, down 1.2% from Thursday's opening price. The price of ethereum moved to $2,453.68 as of 7:23 a.m. ET.

Last week, Bitcoin prices held above $81,000 ahead of the August jobs report and following statements from one Fed governor who said he might hold rates steady this month. This morning, bitcoin opened at its lowest level in about two weeks, down nearly 6% from the week prior, with critical inflation data on deck.

The ongoing war in Iran has sent diesel prices to record highs, and Brent futures (BZ=F) are up more than 16% over the past month and up 8.43% in the last five days.

With more analysts expecting a rate increase next week (69.4%, according to the CME Group's FedWatch tool), crypto prices are sagging, as higher rates are a headwind for cryptocurrencies, which do not pay interest to investors.
