Bitcoin, Ethereum & XRP have entered the final weeks of Q3 2026 with a strong August rally backing them. While Bitcoin attracted nearly 25% gains, Ethereum & XRP surged more than 30% each. The broader crypto market recovery is believed to have brought the three major cryptos back into focus as traders assess whether the latest momentum can extend until the end of Q3 2026.

Q1 & Q2 Weakness Pave Way for a Strong Q3 Rebound

Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP started 2026 with a strong bearish influence that compelled the price to form lower highs and lows. All three top cryptos faced massive selling pressure throughout the first half of the year, bringing the levels towards the yearly lows. Q1 extended the initial weakness, while Q2 kept the broader crypto market under pressure. Further, Q3 has brought a sharp reversal in momentum.

CryptoQ1 GainsQ2 GainsQ3* Gains

Ethereum-29.1%-25.3%+56.2%
XRP-27.1%-22.4%~+45%

*Q3 performance through August 2026

The picture has dramatically changed in Q3, where BTC, ETH & XRP prices have posted strong double-digit gains, overcoming double-digit losses earlier. This sharp shift in quarterly performance highlights just how quickly market sentiment has changed. But with the rally advancing in September, towards the end of Q3, the bigger question is whether this momentum can survive until the end of the month.
