Bitcoin Flips Tesla, Samsung in Market Cap

Bitcoin has surpassed two of the world's biggest listed companies by market capitalization after its price climbed last week.

According to CompaniesMarketCap, Bitcoin's market cap is now $1.615 trillion, surpassing Elon Musk-led Tesla with a market value of $1.438 trillion and Samsung with a current market value of $1.237 trillion. Bitcoin is ranked 13th among the assets tracked, while Tesla and Samsung sit in 14th and 15th spots, respectively.

This comes after a rebound in Bitcoin's price, which hit a high of $81,914 on Saturday. $BTC's market capitalization reached about $1.63 trillion on September 20, 2026, after Bitcoin traded above $81,000 over the weekend, according to CoinGecko historical data.

Bitcoin bulls defy the trend

There were plenty of reasons for the market to fall this past week. But it didn't. Wednesday's Fed rate hike, which was largely seen as a headwind for crypto and other risk assets, failed to deter bulls as Bitcoin and other crypto assets rose.

On Tuesday, the Clarity Act received only 49 votes in the Senate, falling short of the 60 required for passage. Bitcoin temporarily dipped below $74,887 on Tuesday, only to soon stabilize. The relatively contained sell-off indicated that traders had already factored in a large portion of the probability of failure.
