El Índice de Miedo y Codicia Cripto (Crypto Fear & Greed Index) es un número único entre 0 y 100 que condensa el estado emocional del mercado de criptomonedas en una sola señal legible. Por debajo de 50, el mercado tiende al miedo. Por encima de 50, tiende a la codicia. Cuanto más cerca esté la puntuación de cualquiera de los extremos, más unilateral se ha vuelto el sentimiento del mercado — y esos extremos son donde el índice demuestra su valor.

Dos proveedores dominan: Alternative publica la versión más citada, construida principalmente en torno a las señales de Bitcoin. CoinMarketCap (CMC) gestiona su propia variante con una cobertura de activos más amplia. Ambos se nutren de la misma familia general de datos:

  • Volatilidad — qué tan bruscamente oscilan los precios en relación con los promedios recientes
