The Bloomberg Terminal now hosts streaming data for Hyperliquid, accessible via the ticker WSL HYPE <GO>. This integration provides 24/7 visibility into more than 100 contracts, ranging from BTC and Nvidia to the S&P 500, Brent crude, gold, and EUR/USD. While the presence of these assets on the terminal marks a significant milestone for DeFi visibility, it is strictly a monitoring exercise. Bloomberg spokesperson Michael McDonough confirmed that the integration offers no execution capability, leaving the actual trading to the protocol’s native interface.

On October 3, 2026, Hyperliquid distributed $14.6 million in USDC via its AQAv2 mechanism. This yield is distinct from trading fee buybacks, originating instead from the $5 billion to $6.74 billion in USDC reserves held by the protocol. Approximately 90% of this distribution, totaling roughly $13.1 million, was routed to the Hyperliquid Assistance Fund. This fund, which holds about 45 million HYPE tokens acquired for approximately $1.1 billion, is tasked with executing buybacks and burns to manage token supply.

The protocol’s cash flow thesis relies on an aggressive capital return model. Beyond the AQAv2 yield, roughly 97% of net protocol fees are directed toward the Assistance Fund for HYPE buybacks. When combined with the USDC yield, the annual buyback capacity exceeds $900 million. This structure is notably more aggressive than traditional burn mechanisms, operating at a scale four to five times higher than the Ethereum EIP-1559 burn rate or the BNB burn program. With the HYPE token currently trading at $92.81 and commanding a $23.26 billion market capitalization, the protocol is currently ranked ninth globally.
