Una estafa en Kentucky apunta a personas llamadas por el servicio de jurado con una multa en bitcoin

FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) – Una estafa combinada de servicio de jurado y criptomonedas está circulando en Kentucky una vez más, según la Policía Estatal de Kentucky (KSP).

La KSP dice que los estafadores, fingiendo ser fuerzas del orden locales o estatales, llamarán y afirmarán que usted faltó al servicio de jurado, luego lo presionarán para que pague una multa para “resolver” la situación falsa. El estafador instruye a su víctima a retirar efectivo, llevarlo a un quiosco de criptomonedas local y pagar la multa en Bitcoin. En lugar de ir a las fuerzas del orden para pagar una multa legítima, este dinero va directamente al estafador.

Si recibe esta llamada telefónica, cuelgue inmediatamente. Esta estafa se reportó en Bowling Green pero podría expandirse a otras comunidades en el estado, por lo que todos los residentes de Kentucky deben estar alerta.
