Muse can send emails, book travel, fill out forms, research topics and make online purchases. It works across connected apps and websites, with integrations that include Gmail, Spotify and Shopify.
Early adoption came quickly. Muse reportedly pulled in between 2.5 million and 3.4 million downloads in its first two weeks.
By early October, downloads had passed 6.6 million, according to Sensor Tower. The same data showed 1.8 million daily active users.
Muse is available in the US through iOS, Android, muse.ai and WhatsApp. Users can choose a free tier or paid subscriptions priced at $20 and $100 per month.
The tech under the hood
Muse runs on Muse Spark, Meta’s in-house model. The current version, Muse Spark 1.3, is tuned for sustained, multi-step workflows.
Tasks run inside what Meta calls the Muse Secure VM. A virtual machine is essentially a sealed-off computer within a computer, so the agent’s activity stays isolated from everything else.
Sensitive actions go through a separate approval process. If Muse wants to spend your money or touch something important, it is designed to check with you first.
