Wallet in Telegram has
perpetual futures trading for more than 150 million users through a new integration with Lighter, an Ethereum-based decentralized exchange. The feature went live on Thursday. It brings leveraged derivatives into one of the largest consumer-facing distribution channels in crypto.
Users can open long or short positions on more than 50 assets directly inside the Telegram app. Those assets include BTC, Toncoin (TON), tokenized equities, ETFs, oil, and gold.Trades are executed through an integrated custodial wallet with leverage of up to 50x available.
The Open Platform, which builds Wallet in Telegram and other apps on The Open Network, developed the infrastructure behind the integration. The team connected Lighter's decentralized order book directly into the messaging app, allowing users to place trades without being redirected to a separate platform.
Andrew Rogozov, CEO of The Open Platform, said the goal is to simplify access for people who are already moving crypto through Telegram. "Perpetual trading has traditionally required complex interfaces and dedicated platforms," he said. "Embedding it directly into Wallet simplifies access and lowers the barrier for users who already hold and transfer crypto inside Telegram."
