More than 550 buys and over 450 sales disclosed
White House says third-party financial firms manage account independently
President Donald Trump’s investment account made more than 1,000 stock trades in June alone, according to records disclosed on Aug. 22. The account generated more than $2 billion in profit last year, with a substantial share coming from cryptocurrency-related investments.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the newly released records showed more than 550 purchases and over 450 sales during June.
Some of the disclosed trades were valued at more than $1 million. Stocks bought included Berkshire Hathaway, Visa and Mastercard. Stocks sold included Meta Platforms and Motorola.
All of those trades were executed on June 18. That was the day after Trump remotely signed a temporary peace agreement intended to end the armed conflict with Iran.
Since starting his second term in January 2025, Trump has invested through an account held in a revocable trust managed by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.
The White House said the account is not run at the direction of Trump or his family. It said third-party financial institutions manage the account independently and that investments are made through computer-based model portfolios that automatically track well-known indexes, including the Schwab 1000.
