XRP has broken out of a seven-year range to set a fresh all-time high of $3.65, a milestone that traders and analysts say reflects a transformed regulatory landscape and the early effects of institutional money flowing into cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds.

The rally, which unfolded in July 2025, came on the heels of a settlement between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The agreement resolved a lawsuit first filed in 2020 over allegations that XRP sales constituted unregistered securities offerings. For years, that case had clouded the token's legal standing in the United States and kept many institutional players on the sidelines.

With the litigation now behind it, Ripple's payment-focused digital asset has regained momentum. Trading volumes jumped and sentiment turned sharply bullish as the regulatory overhang lifted, according to market data. The settlement is widely viewed as the catalyst that finally allowed XRP to surpass its prior peak and trade at levels not seen since early 2018.
