Why Scaramucci Is Still Bullish Despite the Grind

Scaramucci told CNBC’s Squawk Box on Tuesday from Wyoming’s Blockchain Symposium that Bitcoin has spent nine weeks in the tightest volatility band of the past five years, barely moving since the Iran war began in February.

He pointed to three reasons for the stall.

First, miners shifted compute power toward AI, disrupting hash rate and muting volatility.

Second, capital fled crypto broadly into AI stocks. Third, four-year cycle believers recognize Bitcoin is now approaching the typical end of its bear phase, sitting roughly 18 to 19 months from the next halving.

“I think you’ll see the thing move back up over $100,000,” Scaramucci said. “But it’s going to grind for a while,” he added.

Why Doesn’t He See the Clarity Act as a Major Catalyst?

Scaramucci pushed back on the idea that the Clarity Act passing would be a rocket ship for Bitcoin.

He acknowledged the bill would be positive long term, removing the regulatory pendulum swing between administrations and opening new access opportunities for banks.

But he does not see it as a near-term price catalyst, calling the supply-demand differential from the next halving the more meaningful driver.

He put Clarity Act passage odds at roughly 50-50, noting that Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) and Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), both present at the Wyoming symposium, still believe they can get it done in September.

What He Said About This Bear Market

Scaramucci noted that despite nine bear markets across 37 years in finance, this Bitcoin drawdown of roughly 55% is historically shallow.

Prior bear markets have seen drops of 75% to 80%. He argued the shallower decline reflects a larger base of net buyers building positions ahead of the next bull phase.

What He Said About World Liberty Financial?

Asked about the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial (CRYPTO: WLFI) receiving conditional approval to become a bank, Scaramucci called it a minor development for the broader market.

He argued it is not fair to prevent the president’s adult children from conducting business simply because of their father’s position, while acknowledging the situation warrants careful scrutiny for conflicts of interest.

He added that if the Clarity Act passes, he expects major crypto companies including Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) to pursue banking licenses, creating a broader convergence between crypto and traditional banking.
